Pastor Julius Kim with The Gospel Coalition shares about the call for Fasting and Prayer this Saturday. You can get more information at

Pastor Troy’s Sermon – March 29, 2020

If you are a believer, Pastor Troy celebrated communion this morning during his sermon and he encourages you to participate. Be prepared and have some bread or a cracker and some juice or a small amount of wine ready to celebrate the Lord’s Supper.

Pastor Troy briefly mentioned tithing before this morning’s sermon, that even though we are not gathering together, we still have missionaries we are supporting and we still have bills to pay. If you are a member or regularly attend Heartland, or even if you have only recently found us online and feel God’s leading you, any offerings can be mailed to Heartland Community Church, 4907 Tenth, Great Bend, KS 67530. You can also give online here on the website and clicking on the Give Online tab. You can also text any amount to 84321. Thank you.

We love you, we miss you, and we are praying for you.

Pastor Troy shares the Word – 3/26/2020

Listen to Pastor Troy’s sermon from March 22nd, 2020.

All Church activities and services are currently suspended. Please read the letter from Pastor Troy and Steve Wittig below.

Dear Heartland Family and Friends,
This is a difficult time we live in right now. We do not live in fear, but rather bask in our faith in Jesus Christ. “But now, thus says the Lord, your Creator, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel, ‘Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine!’” Isaiah 43:1
Based on the recommendations of President Trump, the CDC and the Barton County Health Department of having no gatherings of more than ten people, we have made the decision to cancel all church activities and any other activities that are scheduled to be held at the church until Saturday, April 4th. At that time we will re-evaluate the situation. Because of this decision the church will not be open for prayer as was sent out recently, and we will not gather for services this Sunday. This includes the Men’s Bible Study held at Trent Suchy’s.
However, this does not mean that we are being complacent. You are strongly encouraged to continue praying, to go into your Prayer Closet, to worship the Almighty, to remain steadfast in His Word.  “If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14  And while we won’t be gathering together this Sunday, we will be broadcasting a service on Heartland’s Facebook page. If you don’t have Facebook, we will also share the service on the Heartland website ( We also want to remind you that you can still give your offerings and tithes online at or by texting any amount to 84321.
Again, we want to emphasize that we are not doing this out of fear, but because of our love for each of you and our deep desire to protect those who are most vulnerable.
In order to help those who are elderly or are vulnerable, we would like to offer assistance in picking up groceries or running errands. If you would need us, please call the church office at 620-603-6061, Steve Wittig at 620-793-0760, Pastor Troy at 620-786-9731, or Lori Jacobs at 620-639-1693 and arrangements will be made. We will contact a volunteer who will then contact you to schedule a time to come by and get your grocery list and method of payment. We ask that you have this in an envelope either inside your front door or taped to it. When they have picked up your groceries they will leave them on your porch and ring your doorbell or call you to let you know. The volunteers will not be entering your home or having direct contact with you in order to protect you.
Thank you for your continued prayers for Heartland, our city, state, nation and world. Again, God’s plans are much greater than anything we can imagine. “God has no problems, only plans. There is never panic in heaven.” Corrie Ten Boom
