Pastors

Pastor Troy Miller serves as Heartland’s lead pastor. Troy is originally from Hoisington, KS. He and his wife Carrie have been married for 30 years and are the proud parents of two grown children and grandparents to five adorable grandchildren. In his “spare time” Troy likes to take prayer walks on their prayer trail and stays busy running his business Miller Lawns.

Troy’s favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”

Pastor Marcela Oliveira comes to Heartland all the way from Brazil where she served as a pastor also. She, her husband Gustavo and their sweet Bernardo live outside Lorraine. She loves spending time with her family and playing with Bernardo, but her favorite thing to do is to praise and worship Jesus Christ.

Marcela’s favorite Bible verse is, “But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15b

Candy Murphy loves being around kids of all ages. As Children’s Ministries Director, she can be found leading kids in Children’s Church or hanging out with the teens in Youth Group. Candy and her husband Eric are originally from Illinois and have three kids who keep them very busy. Eric also serves on our Trustee Board.

Candy’s favorite verse is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.”

Nicole Gardner directs our Nursery Ministry. She does an amazing job making sure the nursery is fully staffed each Sunday so that parents can attend the Worship Service without worrying if their little ones are okay. And when you see the infants and toddlers with her, there is no doubt that she loves these little ones, and they definitely love her back. She and her husband Ryan have been married for 22 years, and love spending time with family, camping, and living out in the country with their son Drexler, where they can take in the beauty of the nature and wildlife that surrounds them. Ryan also serves as a member of the Trustee Board.

One of Nicole’s favorite verses is “Commit your actions to the lord , and your plans will succeed.” Proverbs 16:3
